Thursday, May 22: Visit of Québec city by bus, Montmorency waterfall and of the Orléans Island
After you will have enjoyed breakfast in a very typical place of Québec city, by coach, you are invited to discover Québec city’s French charm from its diversified architecture, its colours and its
“Joie de Vivre’’. During your adventure, you will learn about the history of Québec City by passing various renowned sites such as: the Plains of Abraham where a memorable battle occurred in 1759, the Parliament Hill and the National Assembly, the City fortifications (walls and gates), the Citadel, the winding streets and the romantic Latin Quarter.
The motor coach will then head through the countryside of Québec. The visits begin with a stop at the bottom of the Montmorency waterfall, which is even higher than Niagara Falls. Admire the scenery from every angle as you ride the gondola to the Montmorency Manor, located at the top of the fall and enjoy the breathtaking view of the St. Lawrence River and the Orléans Island. At the Montmorency Manor, a delicious meal will be served in one of their refined dining rooms
The bus will then lead you unto the Orléans Island where early pioneers of New France have first settled down at the beginning of the 17th Century. You will visit the picturesque village of Ste-Pétronille, site chosen by General Wolfe to station his troops during the great battle of 1759 between French and English troops and then stop at the sugar shack L’En-Tailleur for a sweet touch of maple taffy on snow.
